  1. I’m all for using earth friendly products, but first time I used these, one of the pots split apart along one corner and exploded out one side! Couldn’t believe my eyes, and the basil I’d planted parked in the center was struggling for water. It’s nice they sent seeds with it, however their bell peppers refuse to germinate. So much for guaranteed to grow. The other plants did fine with exception of cilantro which took several seeds to get three plants growing.

The thing that first got me when I opened the box was that there were no trays to put under the pots to catch excess water. I had to order some separately. Now I’m wondering if the trio pot of herbs I bought in larger pots from this company will survive. I cannot recommend this product after using it and am going back to the old standard pots I’ve always used. It’s a shame, because I was really liking the idea of these.

UPDATE: Called Ferry Morse @ 800) 626-3392 and they very kindly replaced the defective product. It remains to be seen if the next set lasts longer. Will be sure to report back if not.

  2. I’m assuming that this is just a matter of putting the pellets in the pots, adding water, and planting seeds. The box claims it comes with ‘instructions’ and yours might; mine didn’t.
